Estimate inputs for the individual's housing expenses which include rent or mortgage payments, utilities, home insurance, property taxes and various maintenance costs.
Some examples of household maintenance or repair expenses might include household cleaning costs, lawn care and snow removal.
Also, determine whether the individual with special needs will be able to live in his or her own home. If so, input the future housing expense costs for the individual
to reside in his or her own home. If you anticipate the individual will need to live in a nursing home or other built-in care housing arrangement, input the future housing
costs for him or her in the built-in care housing environment. If you cannot predict the level of care that the individual will require, input the estimate that includes
the most expensive future housing arrangement. Doing so will provide an end result that includes the highest quality of life for the individual. Housing expenses
might include:
- Rent/mortgage
- Utilities
- Insurance
- Taxes
- Maintenance and repairs
